Frequently Asked Question’s:
Tell me about cbdMD.

What is cannabidiol/CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic compound that comes from leaves, stalks, and flowers or industrial hemp or cannabis plant. It is the most widely accepted non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. CBD oil should not be confused with marijuana even though they both come from cannabis; we extract the CBD oil contained in cbdMD products from industrial hemp.
(Our line is tested by a 3rd party frequently to make sure there are no traceable amounts of THC Our results from the last batch is always available at https://www.cbdMD.com/COA)
Is CBD oil legal?
CBD oil and other hemp-extracted products are perfectly legal to be used and sold within the United States. The growing, processing, and selling of hemp extracts – including cannabinoids from industrial hemp – is possible through federal regulation within Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 which the U.S. Congress passed and signed into law.
(A lot of people don’t realize that hemp products have been sold for years. I have a line of lotion made from Hemp that I have been using that is sold at Ulta and Palm Beach Tan! I first found it ~10 years ago.)
Will using CBD oil get me “high”?
Because CBD is a non-psychoactive component from industrial hemp, it doesn’t have any elements of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is familiar with cannabis; therefore, there’s no “high” effect as a result of using CBD.
(You just can’t get high from CBD)
How will CBD affect my body?
CBD affects the body by triggering the receptors of the endocannabinoid system within your brain and nervous system. These receptors regular various body parts and systems – results may vary based on your purpose for using CBD.
How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?
CBD effects can usually take up to 30 minutes depending on the dosage. Because there are no psychoactive ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect; however, a significant decrease in symptoms – reduced pain, calming sense, etc. – should be noticeable. Again, results are dependent on your dosage and purpose for using CBD.
Are there any side effects of CBD?
Any side effects of CBD are insignificant at best – nowhere near as relevant as those side effects from pharmaceutical medicines that are approved by the FDA. The most that CBD users have reported is minor abdominal discomfort or mild sedation. Again, there’s no “high” effect or psychoactive properties with CBD, so no worries about your ability to perform day-to-day duties.
Is it possible to take too much CBD at once?
CBD dosages will vary from person to person. Some cases may only need a little dosage while others may require higher intakes – it depends on which symptoms you’re trying to relieve. There are no reports of any lethal or deadly doses of CBD.

What makes hemp plants different from marijuana plants?
Hemp and marijuana essentially come from the same plant family, cannabis sativa. The main difference between the two is their level of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the illegal, psychotropic cannabinoid. According to the Agricultural Act of 2014, the Obama Administration describes legal hemp plants as containing less than 0.3% THC which also makes cannabinoids extracted from hemp, such as Cannabidiol (CBD), legal as well.
What is “Full Spectrum Extraction”?
Full spectrum extraction is a process that allows preservation of valuable terpenoids, essential oils, amino acids, and other beneficial cannabinoids. Because of full spectrum extraction, cbdMD products successfully provide the “entourage effect” with each dose.
Will using CBD oil show up on a drug test?
There is a small percentage that consuming CBD may lead to a positive drug test, as it does with any product made from hemp.
(Our company goes a step further with a CO2 method so that no traces of THC are found in our product. We are endorsed by many professional athletes. And no one using JUST our product has failed a drug test. This unique process enables us to offer full plant CBD without any risk of THC)
What is the proper way to store CBD products from cbdMD?
We suggest storing our products in a dry, cool area with no direct exposure to constant light or excessive heat.
Is there an expiration date for CBD products?
There is a “shelf life” mainly for our CBD vape oil which means there’s a timeline it should be consumed. With proper storage, we guarantee 3 to 4 months for vape oils and up to 2 years for other cbdMD products.
How long until it works?
Results can vary from person to person, so some people see immediate results while others may not. We suggest using the product 2-3 weeks to acclimate the body.
